The new photo-straightening feature corrects off-kilter landscapes like this one.

Instagram has issued a new version of its popular photo and video sharing app, bringing Android into the video fold at last and improving the way content is handled when you upload.

Android users with version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and up can now upload 15-second Instagram videos to their heart's content. And not just from within the app: you can now upload videos you took earlier that are sitting in your gallery, cropping and adjusting them as you see fit.

There's also an automatic straightening tool on the iOS version of the app now, so that buildings or horizons that didn't turn out quite lined up with the frame can be put right.

The main draw here is the ability for Android users to upload videos ? they've been champing at the bit ever since the feature was announced in June. You can download version 4.1 of Instagram at the App Store or Google Play.
